Dressing Up for the Holidays.

Can you believe that Christmas is under a week away? I always feel like this time of year goes by in the blink of an eye. This year especially feels like the month of December has just flown by! I know we will all be happy to say goodbye to 2020, and HELLO to 2021. But before we say hello to 2021, I am going to soak up as much of the Christmas spirit that I can. This is my absolute favorite time of year, and living in New York City during the holidays is simply magical.

My sister and I will be going home for Christmas, and while the beach is vastly different from the city, both Rehoboth Beach and New York City are both the perfect place to spend Christmas. Our mom has already started baking Christmas cookies, so I know what I’ll be eating when I get home! We go all out with Christmas cookies, from sugar to gingerbread, to snowballs, to chocolate chip. The house smells like a bakery for the entire month of December. Another family tradition is on Christmas morning we stay in our pajamas to have breakfast and open gifts, and then we all get dressed up for dinner! Now I might be an oddball, but I LOVE dressing up for Christmas dinner. I have always been one of those people where as soon as I get a gift, I will put it on immediately. Of course, when I was a little girl, my dad had to open the Barbie or American Girl Doll immediately so I could play with it. Thanks dad!

For today’s look, I am going to be sharing one of my favorite outfits for Christmas Day dinner. It is easy, comfortable, and looks great through the winter.

Today’s Look:

Velvet Halter Dress – I am wearing a size small, in burgundy. This dress is so comfortable and I love that I’ll be able to wear it through the winter. Pair with black tights and booties, and you are set for date night or dinner with the girls. The dress just sold out, but they did send out an email saying that they will be restocking soon! I’ve linked similar ones below.

This dress comes in sizes S-L.

Glitter Block-Heel Sandal – I am wearing a size 7. I bought mine last year, and the heel is dipped in glitter. However, Old Navy is selling the exact same shoe again this year, except the whole shoe is covered in glitter! I think I need to go back and buy them again in this style. Such a comfy heel, and you can wear them right through the year!

This shoe comes in sizes 6-11 as well as half sizes.
