Happy rainy Wednesday.

When the weather calls for mostly rain, the week always feels a bit longer and drawn out. All you want to do is snuggle up in a cozy sweater or jacket. However, even on rainy days, I love pops of color to brighten the day, or at least cheer you up. Sometimes living in New York Cit,y you feel like you need to dress like everyone else, but I love standing out with a bright bootie or pant. I have a fuscia colored trench coat in my closet, and anytime I wear it I am asked where it is from. Gotta love Zara.

While I love color, I am also a fan of purchasing pieces that will last a very long time. I have clothes in my closet from Ann Taylor, Everlane, J.Crew, and Madewell that I’ve owned for a few years. Not only do they look brand new, but they never go out of style. The dress that I am sharing with you today is from Madewell, and it makes for the perfect transitional piece, and perfect fall and winter staple.

Today’s Look:

Madewell Dress – I am wearing a size small, and I probably should have gone down a size as it runs big, but I actually like that it is bigger, so that I can pair it with a long sleeved ribbed top or turtleneck in the winter. Runs in sizes XXS – XL. Reduced from $89 to $59.

Pointed Toe Block Heel – I am wearing a size 7. Since they have a block heel, they provide more support, and are comfortable to wear all day. I love that you can wear them with everything – from dresses to jeans, and they add the perfect height if you are petite like me. They run in sizes 5 – 11 as well as half sizes, and they are also offered in several different colors and patterns. Only $59.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
