I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food, laughter, family, friends, and some shopping. The weather was beautiful at home in Rehoboth Beach; the temps were in the mid 60’s and sunny. We had so much food at our Thanksgiving dinner… two turkeys, sweet potatoes, stuffing, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, macaroni, cranberry sauce, rolls, yams, and jello mold. Plus, for dessert we had two pies, a coconut cake, and cookies. I do not think I am going to eat again until Christmas!! However, it was wonderful to just sit, talk, laugh, and be with the people that I love the most.
We did not go Black Friday shopping as it was WAY too busy. We only went to one store, which was featured on the blog over the weekend. My Black Friday came to a close by eating Thanksgiving leftovers, which I swear are better the next day, and drank pink champagne. I had also seen a commercial on TV for Points of Light. According to the commercial, a giant spotlight can be put in the front yard and it will light up the whole house with Christmas lights. We bought one, and I was so excited to test it out! I swear Christmas is my favorite time of year, and not only was I happy to be home to begin decorating, I was also so incredibly happy that I was able to come back to my apartment and begin decorating as well. Speaking of apartment decorating, all of my Christmas decorations will be up on the blog soon. Not only do I love decorating for Christmas, I also love dressing up as well. I think I own at least 30 Christmas sweaters, sweatshirts, leggings, hats, etc. You name it, and I have it.
While I love decorating for Christmas and looking at all the lights on the trees and in the windows, it also reminds me of all the wonderful acts of kindness that this holiday season brings. My mom and I were out getting some more decorations this morning and we only had one umbrella at my apartment ,so she went to go buy another at Century 21. While we were standing in the check out line, a woman from Ireland came up to us and explained that she had $5 dollars left on her gift card. She wanted us to use the money as she had just checked out and hadn’t used it. Little acts of kindness go a long way. No matter how small the gesture, it is the best magic during this time of the year.
Today’s outfit is so comfy, and I loved that I could walk around Rehoboth and remain warm enough. This coat and jeans are perfect for the winter months and I love that you can layer under this coat. PLUS, Forever 21 is running a 20% off sale online through midnight tonight and offers free shipping on all items over $50. J.Crew is also running a 30% off sale on all sale items.
Coat – I am wearing a size medium. Since it is a wool blend, it tends to run a little smaller. Plus, I love to layer under these coats, so it is good to go a size up. Sadly my color is no longer in stock, but the coat does come in a beautiful Rust color and in sizes S-L.
Jeans – I am wearing a size 25. Although mine are from last year, I was able to find a very similar pair. Although they are a little pricey, they fit beautifully and go with everything. They also tend to go on sale as we get closer to the holidays so I would wait a few weeks to purchase. They come in sizes 24 – 32.
Oxfords – I am wearing a size 7. These oxfords are so incredibly comfortable and they are on SALE, for $39.69 when using the code CYBER. They come in sizes 5.5 – 6.5, as they are the only pairs left, and come in 11 different colors! I am wearing rosegold.
Blanket Scarf – Yes, I am obsessed with this scarf, but they are still running a cyber sale where everything is 30% off.
Have a wonderful night everyone!
